Tuesday is National Hot Dog Day, and Pittsburgh Willy’s is celebrating the occasion with something special: The Gourmet Twilly Dog.
The Twilly gets its name from a combination of Twinkie and Big Willy, the Chandler eatery’s signature hot dog.
It features a 6-inch Hebrew National all-beef dog nestled in a split Twinkie and topped with peanut butter and bacon. It will cost $2.50.
“I had a number of customers try it (during the testing stage), and they all loved it,” owner Randy Walters says. “It’s really tasty.”
Pittsburgh Willy’s will be serving the Twilly from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday.
